Classes on Tafsir of Qur’an – About the term ‘Amr’, authority, in the Qur’an and the Sunna. (Audio)

Tafsir classes (commentary and explanation of the Qur’an), taught by Imam Hajj Abdel Ghani Melara, where he explains the tafsir, based on several of the recognized commentators, in this class, on the term ‘Amr’, authority:

O you who have believed, obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in authority among you. And if you disagree over anything, refer it to Allah and the Messenger, if you should believe in Allah and the Last Day. That is the best (way) and best in result.
59. Surah The Women.

And Allah had certainly fulfilled His promise to you when you were overcoming them by His permission until [the time] when you lost courage and fell to disputing about the order (given by the Prophet) and disobeyed after He had shown you that which you love. Among you are some who desire this world, and among you are some who desire the Hereafter.
152, Surah Family of Imran.

So by mercy from Allah, (O Muhammad), you were lenient with them. And if you had been rude (in speech) and harsh in heart, they would have disbanded from about you. So pardon them and ask forgiveness for them and consult them in the matter. And when you have decided, then rely upon Allah . Indeed, Allah loves those who rely (upon Him).
159, Surah Family of Imran.

Classes are open, every Monday between maghrib and isha prayers.

It is a unique opportunity that we have in Seville to be able to benefit from these classes of Hajj Abdel Ghani, to whom we are tremendously grateful for his service and dedication.

The first major project of Hajj Abdel Ghani was to undertake the translation of the Qur’an into Spanish language, which involved a process of almost twenty years in which other Spanish Muslims collaborated and in which he studied the traditional tafsirs and sought an expression in Spanish language that was appropriate for the people of this era. This translation has been published several times. One of them by Mujamma ‘al-Malik Fahd li Ṭiba’a al-Muṣḥaf ash-Sharif of Medina al-Munawwara, being required by such an organization due to the prestige he already enjoyed among Spanish speakers. And another one by the Turkish Ministry of Religious Affairs of Turkey, among other several editions no less careful and important.

He has also translated such important texts as: Mukhtaṣar al-Bukhari, al-Muwwaṭṭa of Imam Malik, ash-Shifá and Qawa’id al-Islam, both of the qaḍi ‘Iyaḍ, the diwan of the shaikh Muḥammad Ibn al-Ḥabib and Tanbih al- Ghafilin of as-Samarqandi.
