Within the framework of the development of the future Islamic Cultural Centre of Seville, an essential phase of preliminary contact with several architecture studios in the city was carried out. The objective of this first round was to publicize the vision and scope of the project, with a view to making a pre-selection of five studies. Among these finalists, a competition would be held that would include the preparation of a preliminary study of the project, thus laying the foundations of what aspired to be an architectural and cultural landmark for the city. <\/p>\n
For this selection, a set of key factors that went beyond the purely technical were assessed. While the design, the price and the ability to tackle projects of this magnitude were important, a special sensitivity to the essence of the project was especially sought, as well as a genuine desire to take on the challenge. Accessibility, flexibility and fluid and close communication were decisive.
