The Islamic Community La Paz of Puertollano began this past weekend a new chapter of openness and coexistence with the society in which they live and in which they educate their children, the city of Puertollano.<\/p>\n\n

Thus, on Friday, in the Cristina Rodero Museum, in the center of the city next to the City Hall, the presentation of the book “Educaci\u00f3n decisiva. “Decisive Education. An introduction to the principles of Islamic education”,<\/em><\/strong> presentation dictated by the author of the book himself, Hayy Jalid Nieto, from Seville, graduated in social sciences, teacher and educator, before a hundred Muslims and non-Muslims.<\/p>\n\n

Khalid Nieto, a Muslim for forty years, was president of the Islamic Community of Spain (1993-95), founding trustee of the Seville Mosque Foundation, of which he is currently Vice President.\nHe is the coordinator of Andalusian and Islamic culture conferences in Spain, Portugal and Morocco.\nHe has published numerous articles in specialized and scientific journals, and is the author of three books: “Las hojas de Almonaster: Muamalat Fi Tijara. Economy and spirituality in Islam”, “The footprint of the word”, a poetic book; and the one he presented to us: “Decisive education”. <\/p>\n\n

Khalid Nieto, following the Aristotelian principles of how to educate young Muslims, tries to prepare them as ‘good citizens’ who love the land where they live and explain their religion and the din in the language that educates them, in our case, Spanish.<\/p>\n\n

The event began with the recitation in Arabic of verses 12 to 20 of the sura of Luqman and subsequent translation, explaining who was this wise man who appears in the holy book of the Koran.\nThen, supported by the beginning of the electoral campaign, he outlined among other aspects that his book narrates (Annex I) how our leaders should be, taking as a model the social coexistence of the first Muslim society… <\/p>\n\n

“Decisive Education” is not a book of educational recipes, it is a book to open the heart to new perspectives of the educational principles of Islam.\nIt is not concrete, it is conceptual.\nThe book is divided into four parts, an epilogue and three appendices. <\/p>\n\n

The first part<\/em><\/strong> is an introduction to our religion through a story that our protagonist had in Istanbul where he explains what Islam is, and that he must be educated on the three sciences: fiqh (jurisprudence), aqida (belief) and tasawwuf (Sufism, the inner part of Islam).<\/p>\n\n

The second part<\/em><\/strong> in a tafsir (commentary) on verses 12 to 20 of the sura of Luqman.\nit is in this part where the “crux” of the book ‘decisive education’<\/em> lies .<\/em> it is a “enough is enough!\nget to work muslims for your children…! <\/p>\n\n

The third part<\/em><\/strong> relates 9 hadiths to reaffirm the positions offered.<\/p>\n\n

The fourth part<\/em><\/strong> is the conclusion, offering 10 basic principles for education in Islam.<\/p>\n\n

The epilogue<\/strong> is a letter from his son, coincidentally named Luqman, reflecting on the sketch of the book before its publication.<\/p>\n\n

The book ends with three appendices<\/em><\/strong> on fundamental notions of Islam, a glossary of terms to understand the key concepts and a reflection by Shaykh Mohammad ibn al Habib.<\/p>\n\n

Khalid Nieto’s commitment to the second and third generations of Muslims is a fact, and this book is the result of it.\nTherefore, the next day, Saturday, he had a meeting in the mosque with the youngest of the Islamic community of Puertollano. <\/p>\n\n

The talk was about the path of knowledge, with hadiths that appear in his book, explained in a simple way.\nThe Hadith of Yibril explaining what Islam is, the Iman and Ihsan.\nFundamentals of the Islamic religion.\nI also delve into the importance of coexistence in the place where we live and its appreciation.\nCare of the nature that surrounds us, of the streets, of the neighbors, of respecting the teachers who teach, of the good treatment of parents, prayer and patience as the center of the life of the Muslims, good manners? <\/p>\n\n
