The co-president of the Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation and advisor to H.M. the King of Morocco, Andr\u00e9 Azoulay, received on 28 February the Andalusian Medal for Solidarity and Concord, an award with which the Andalusian Government has recognised its defence of dialogue between civilisations, cultures, peoples, women and men on both sides of the Mediterranean.<\/p>\n\n

With this award, Andr\u00e9 Azoulay enters the select group of foreigners who have been distinguished in this act by the Junta de Andaluc\u00eda, which on very few occasions has looked outside our borders to deliver its medals. <\/p>\n\n

Andr\u00e9 Azoulay, born in the Moroccan city of Essaouira in 1941, has joined this small group of laureates, who in addition to their foreign origin, have in common their link with Andalusia.\nIn this sense, Andr\u00e9 Azoulay was a protagonist in the creation and constitution of the Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation based in Seville, an institution of which he was appointed co-president since its birth 20 years ago.\nA position that he continues to hold today, providing his support, encouragement, visions and advice, which have contributed significantly to improving and strengthening relations between Morocco and Andalusia. <\/p>\n\n

Our thanks to the Junta de Andaluc\u00eda and Fundaci\u00f3n Tres Culturas for the invitation, it was an honour for the Fundaci\u00f3n Mezquita de Sevilla to be present at the event through its vice-president Jalid Nieto.\nAnd our most sincere congratulations to Mr.\nAndr\u00e9 Azoulay for such a well-deserved recognition. <\/p>\n\n
