The president of the Islamic Community in Spain announces that having sighted the first quarter of the moon, today the beginning of the month of Ramadan<\/strong> is set for tomorrow, Thursday, February 19, thus fulfilling the month of Sha’ban a cycle of 29 days.<\/p>\n\n

Allah says in the Qur’an:<\/p>\n\n

\n

Believers! Fasting has been prescribed for you just as it was prescribed for those who preceded you. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\n

May you fear (Allah)!<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\n

For a certain number of days, fixed for that purpose.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\n
\n

But whoever is sick or traveling, may do so, in equal number, on other days.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\n

And those who could fast (do not fast or break their fast) the remedy will be to feed the poor.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\n

But whoever does good spontaneously will be better for him. And fasting is better for you, if you know. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\n

In the month of Ramadan the Qur’an was brought down, guidance for men and clear proofs of Guidance and Discernment; so whoever among you sees the month, let him fast; and whoever is sick or on a journey, let him do so at another time, for the same number of days.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\n

Allah wants for you the easy and not the difficult, but He wants you to complete the number (of days) and to proclaim the greatness of Allah for having guided you.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\n

May you be grateful!<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n\n

Let us ask Allah for ease in this holy month and the greatest of rewards in this life and the next, amin.<\/p>\n\n
