Today, the Fundaci\u00f3n Mezquita de Sevilla has had the pleasure of welcoming back to our facilities the representatives of the association Movement Against Intolerance. It has been an enormously fruitful and, above all, very pleasant meeting: a reunion that serves to strengthen ties of collaboration.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, our visitors provided us with informative brochures with details of their work and the services they offer, material that from now on is available to everyone at the Mosque of Seville for those who wish to learn more about their work and can benefit from it. We have also shared with them the various services, activities and resources that our institution offers to citizens, reinforcing our commitment as an open and public service entity.<\/p>\n
We have also had the opportunity to talk to them about the project of the Islamic Cultural Center of Seville, a space that we want to be a point of meeting, dialogue and knowledge. We take this opportunity to remind you that our door is always open to all those who want to know it first-hand, without intermediaries or prejudices.<\/p>\n
One of the central points of the meeting was the analysis of the growing polarization of hate speech and its direct impact on society. We fully agree on the seriousness of this situation: those who foment division and rejection of those who are different usually take refuge in the impunity of the word, but when these discourses have real and tragic consequences, the same people who encouraged them hide cowardly, trying to disassociate themselves from the responsibility that corresponds to them.<\/p>\n
From the Mosque Foundation of Seville we reiterate our firm commitment to denouncing any form of intolerance and to building bridges of understanding. We thank the Movement Against Intolerance for its tireless work and courage in putting the spotlight on those who, with their rhetoric, sow hatred that then reaps pain.<\/p>\n
