Eid Prayer and Zakat al Fitra

Date of Eid al Fitra
The day of Eid al Fitra will be announced on Saturday night, May 23 (29th of Ramadan), depending on the sighting of the moon in Spain or reference area.

Eid al Fitra Prayer
Due to the State of Alarm, the distancing and hygienic measures established by the Government of Spain, and the impossibility of guaranteeing its compliance during the Eid Salat, we will not celebrate it in congregation this year.

Zakat Al Fitra
Zakat al Fitr becomes obligatory, for the known categories, from the Salat of Maghrib on the day of Eid al Fitra. The best time for its delivery is between the Salat of Fajr and the Eid prayer. It is permissible to give it from two days before Eid.

Therefore, and taking into account the exceptional situation we are experiencing, and that Eid al Fitr may fall on Sunday the 24th or Monday the 25th:

• Zakat al Fitra may be given in non-perishable food, in accordance with the sunna, at the mosque between Asr and Isha on Friday 22 and Saturday 23.

• Zakat al Fitra, unlike the Zakat pillar, can be given directly to people in need.
