Sukron Kamil, Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities at Syarif Hifayatullah State Islamic University (UIN), Jakarta, has visited the Seville Mosque Foundation on the occasion of his research entitled ‘Social Integration of Mosques, States and Muslims: Study of Mosques in Indonesia and Spain’.
During a trip to Indonesia by a delegation from the Seville Mosque Foundation, Sukron Kamil organized a conference on the Islamic legacy of Spain and the present and future of Muslims in this country at the university of which he is dean that was given by this delegation.
The research he is carrying out at the moment leads him to research at the Autonomous University of Madrid and the University of Seville, as well as conducting field research.
During the interview with Ibrahim Hernández, president of the Mosque of Seville Foundation, issues related to the reason for the research that we hope will be useful for this research were discussed.
Part of the foundation’s activities are to promote Spain’s Islamic legacy and to highlight the immense social contribution that Muslims have made and continue to make, as well as to promote a positive image of Muslims in the media, research projects and others.
That is why an effort is made to receive and collaborate with all those who pursue these same objectives.
