Our congratulations to Tun Dr. Mahatir and all Malaysians

Today is a historic day; the day Tun Dr. Mahatir has been appointed Prime Minister of Malaysia, the seventh since the country’s independence, and his second time as Prime Minister after having served in power, as Prime Minister, from 1981 to 2003.

It is certainly a day of joy and happiness for Malaysians and Muslims around the world!

We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate him and all Malaysians on this incredible good news.

In recent years, representatives of the Seville Mosque Foundation have had the honor and pleasure of meeting with Tun Dr. Mahathir bin Mohamad on four different occasions at his office in Putrajaya.

These visits were carried out during trips to raise awareness and funds for the project to build the Islamic Cultural Centre, Mosque and Awaqf in the city of Seville.

On each occasion, Tun Dr. Mahathir received us and encouraged us to continue with the work, always offered us his help and advised us to remain faithful to the Qur’an and Sunnah, for as long as we do so we will never deviate from the right path.

Despite his age, Tun Dr. Mahathir has always maintained a very busy schedule, and we are very honored and grateful that he has always had time to host us. It is a true example to those younger than that one should never retire and should continue to fight for what they believe in until the last moment.

A man, at his age, who does not seek wealth, power, fame, or position, but who feels a duty to serve his people until his last breath. A true example for all of us.

We hope that the recent elections in Malaysia will bring the best for this country and that Allah will guide those who take authority and reward all those who have done good before them.
