Our most sincere congratulations to Tun Dr. Mahatir and all Malaysians

Today is a historic day, as Tun Dr. Mahatir been appointed as Prime Minister of Malaysia, the 7th since the country’s independence, and his second time as Prime Minister after having served in power from 1981 to 2003.

It’s certainly a day of joy and happiness for Malaysians and Muslims all over the world!

We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate him and all of Malaysians for this incredible good news.

Over the past few years, representatives of the Seville Mosque Foundation have had the honour and pleasure to meet Tun Dato’ Sri Dr. Mahathir bin Mohamad in four different occasions at his office in Putrajaya.

These visits took place during the trips to raise awareness and funds for the project to build the islamic cultural centre, mosque and waqf in the city of Seville.

In each occasion Tun Dr. Mahathir, received us and encouraged us to continue with the work, always offered his help and advised us to always stay true to the Quran and the Sunnah, for as long as we did that we would never go wrong.

Despite his age, Tun Dr. Mahathir has always maintained a very busy agenda, and we are very honoured and grateful that he had time to receive us. It is a real example for those younger than him that a person should never retire and one should keep fighting for what he believes in until the last moment.

A man, at his age, who is not looking for wealth, power, fame or position, but who felt his duty to serve his people till his last breath. A true example for us all.

We hope that the recent elections in Malaysia will bring the best for this country and that Allah will guide those who will be taking authority and will reward all those of have done good before them.

May Allah bless him, grant him health and strength, every thing he needs and a long life. Amin.
