Programme of the ‘Islam in the North’ conference in Malmö, Sweden

On the weekend of Friday, October 5 to Sunday, October 7, a conference will take place in Malmo, Sweden, dedicated to exploring the roots, presence, experience and understanding of Islam in northern Europe.

On Friday afternoon the first session will take place with a talk by Shaykh Salahuddin Barkat, entitled ‘Sweden’, another by Abu Bakr Rieger, on the work of the ‘European Muslim Union’, and a talk by Shaykh Abdalhaqq Bewley, on Islam in England.
These will be followed by a dinner.

On Saturday, Luqman Nieto, vice-president of the Seville Mosque Foundation, was invited to give a talk on the relationship of Muslims with the rest of the community, Muslims and non-Muslims, especially in places where Muslims are a minority.
On the same day, Abu Bakr Rieger will give a talk on Islam in Europe and there will be an open panel with the participation of Abu Bakr Rieger, Shaykh Abdalhaqq Bewley and Luqman Nieto and moderated by Shaykh Salahuddin Barakat.
