I have had a few days of a lot of hustle and bustle, days of inexhaustible paperwork in which I have not had time to sit down calmly and write something, but, in spite of this, in these days, the first days of the month of the birth of the best of creation, the Messenger Muhammad, salla allahu alaihi wa sallam, I have not stopped for a moment to remember him in my heart.
And now, after doing the salat de subh, I couldn’t resist sitting down to write something about him, salla allahu alaihi wa sallam; And why did I do it?
Because of the need that I feel that I have and that we all have for him, to get closer to him, to remember him, to imitate him and follow his example, and above all, to love him, with a real and sincere love, with a love that surpasses all other loves, since that love, with the permission of Allah, will be what will make us meet, to meet and delight in their company, in the highest place of the Garden.
And I pray to Allah that it may be so.
Amin: And I feel that we are living in a society and in a historical moment in which we need him, we need to study his life, we need to soak him up.
Since he teaches us, by his example, to open our eyes, he calls us to wake up.
In the world of darkness in which we live, some look to one side and see only darkness, others look the other way and see nothing but darkness and the Messenger Muhammad, salla alalhu alaihi wa sallam, is the radiant sun that illuminates us in the midst of that darkness.
It is the luminous sun that illuminates the world of darkness, a sun that transforms sadness into happiness, disorder and chaos become a precise order, it is what makes people unjust to each other, a selfish and individualistic people, people with dignity and high values, who recognize their rights, their standing before Allah and before the creatures and their worth.
People who recognize what they were created for.
What is the life of the Messenger of Allah to us?
His Sirah is like the ruh of the body, if we do not know it, if we do not soak it up, we are only bodies that move by impulses, we are automatons, the Messenger of Allah, with the message he brought, with what he teaches us and transmits from Allah, is what gives meaning to our lives.
He is that spirit, he is that light that in a month like the one we are in, arises in Makkah and illuminates the world completely.
Before him people lit each one with his lamp, with his own lamp, with an individual and limited light, but when the overflowing and luminous lamp of Muhammad came, all mankind was illuminated with that light.
This is the Messenger of Allah, a point of luminous light that spread throughout the world.
Mankind extinguished their lamps, they no longer shined, they no longer illuminated them, and they went to the blazing light of the Messenger, they were dead, and that light illuminated them.
Allah says: “Is it that one who was dead and brought him back to life by giving him a light with which he walks among the people, is he like one who is in darkness and without a way out?” (6:22).
The world did not distinguish between good and evil, between right and wrong, until this light came, until this man came with the Message of his Lord and opened the eyes, the ears, the tongues, and all the senses. He gave life to the hearts of the people, this is what he carried: “Likewise We have inspired you with a spirit that comes from Our order; before you did not know what the Book was or what belief was, but We have made it a light with which to guide whom We love from Our servants. Verily, you lead to a straight path” (42:52).
The Messenger of Allah is a light for the whole universe, for all creatures, he is life for hearts, he is purification, he is harmony, he is peace, he is change for the better, he is what gives man the ability to recognize his worth and his position as a human being.
It is the Messenger of Allah who teaches us that we are the noblest creatures before Allah.
The Messenger of Allah teaches us that we are beings close to Allah, that we are loved by Him, noble before Him, that we are part of the “dye” of Allah.
It teaches us to eliminate darkness, oppression, injustice; it teaches us that before Allah we are all equal, it teaches us that we are all of Adam and Adam is of earth.
Are you not aware of the need that we have, that all humanity has today for that light?
He was able to change an entire society, he was able to change the course of history.
He changed a people who drank wine five times a day to a people who prostrated before Allah five times a day.
He changed people who buried their daughters alive, for people who did not allow a single word to be said against them.
He changed a rough people who urinated in the mosque, for a noble people who cleaned themselves after urinating.
And how did he achieve it?
He achieved it by his example, by his effort, by his concern for us and, above all, he achieved it with mercy, because he was, and continues to be, a mercy for all the worlds: “Verily, a Messenger has come unto you from yourselves; it is painful for him that you suffer any evil, he is committed to you and to believers he is kind and compassionate.” This is the Messenger of Allah, this is the light of Muhammad ibn ‘Abdullah, this is the best of creation, this is the man whom Allah, in His infinite Knowledge and Mercy, chose to deposit His Message and to transmit it; how wonderful the Message is, how wonderful the Message bearer is, and how wonderful it would be to illuminate our hearts with the light of the Message and the Message bearer.
O Allah, I ask You, in this noble month, to make us one of those whom You describe in Your Book saying: “Whoever obeys Allah and the Messenger, they will be with those whom Allah has favored: the Prophets, the truthful, those who died bearing witness, and the righteous. And what excellent companions!” Amin
