The 19th anniversary of the Great Mosque of Granada, Moussem de Granada, which was inaugurated in 2003, took place in Granada on July 1, 2 and 3. This event, which has been held for the past 19 years, has become a benchmark for the coexistence of Islam in Europe.
The Mosque party was preceded by a women’s gathering, with various talks, meals and dhikr on Thursday, June 30.
On Friday afternoon, Friday the 1st, the characteristic ‘mosque party’ took place in the gardens of the mosque. A reception open to the Muslim and non-Muslim public and attended by both neighbors and fellow citizens, authorities and people who travel from various places especially for it, who this year were able to enjoy a beautiful concert of Qawwali, while tasting tea and pastries served with the most exquisite courtesy.
During Saturday and Sunday, several conferences were held at the Islamic Studies Center of the Mosque on “Family Politics in the 21st Century”, and a dhikraevening on Saturday led by Shaykh Abdalhaq Bewley.
The event concluded with a paellada on Sunday evening at the Alqueria Al-Kawzar, on the outskirts of Granada.
Our thanks and congratulations to all those who have made it possible with their service and effort and with the deep desire to someday be able to celebrate events like this, in a winery if possible as beautiful as this one, in Seville. Insha Allah.
