A Beacon of Unity: Eminent Scholars and Community Leaders Visit the Seville Mosque Foundation

In a powerful show of inter-community solidarity and support, a delegation of esteemed Islamic scholars and prominent community leaders recently visited the Seville Mosque Foundation. The purpose of his visit was to provide crucial support and gain first-hand information on the significant progress of the Seville Islamic Centre, Mosque and Awqaf project. This ambitious initiative aims to establish a vital hub for the Muslim community in Seville, fostering education, spiritual growth and community involvement.

The delegation was warmly received and welcomed by Ibrahim Hernández, president of the Seville Mosque Foundation, and the Foundation’s Board of Trustees. The spirit of unity and shared purpose was palpable as discussions unfolded about the challenges and triumphs of bringing this essential project to fruition.

Among the distinguished guests were: Shaykh Abdalhaqq Bewley, a revered Shaykh of the Darqawi-Shadhili-Qadiri Tariqa of England; Rais Salman Kajie, the esteemed leader of the global Qadiriyyah movement; Hayy Muhammad Hisham Melara, president of the Islamic Community in Spain and of the Mosque Foundation of Granada; Zahir Khan, a respected patron and board member of Cape Town’s Jumua Mosque, and Shayj Mujeeb Gallagher, a renowned specialist in Media Law and an influential member of the British Board Scholars and Imams. Also present were members of Granada’s vibrant Muslim community, Hafid Boujrhal and Humayun Pérez, underlining the grassroots community’s support for the Seville project.

The visit served as a testament to the collective determination to see Seville’s Islamic Centre, Mosque and Awqaf flourish. It provided an invaluable opportunity for visiting dignitaries to learn more about the project’s progress and offer their invaluable guidance and support to the Seville community in achieving their vision.
