On Sunday, December the 11th, after Salat al Isha (19.40h), we will celebrate the Mawlid an Nabi, the birth of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings upon him, at the Mosque in Plaza Ponce de Leon. We will have an evening of Dhikr and a speech by Hajj Abdel Gani Melara, about the love to the Prophet Mohammed, peace and blessings be upon him. At the end, dinner will be served.
The fact of remembering the birth of Muhammad, peace and blessings from Al-lah be upon him, is a luminous sign in the history of Islam; and deserves this remembrance and celebration; and to assemble for it to remember Al-lah, Glorified and Exalted, to study the Sira and all that is related, such as: giving food, keeping family ties, helping the needy, the orphans … and all that is to seek the Sunna (the beautiful example of the Messenger) to follow and to take as an example his beautiful character qualities.
“I have indeed been sent to perfect the noble qualities of character”
The Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings upon him.
The love for the Messenger of Al-lah is to follow and to imitate him. The love for the Messenger is the determination to help him, the defense of his Sunna, to submit to it and the fear of opposing it. Love is the continuous memory of the beloved; Love is to prefer the beloved; Love is the yearning for the beloved; Love is the coincidence of the heart with what the beloved wants, loving what he loves and loathing what he hates.
