On Saturday, November 17th, after the Isha prayer (7.40pm), the Mawlid an Nabi will be celebrated -the birth of the Prophet Muhammad- peace and blessings on him, at the Mosque in Ponce de León Square. The celebration will be an evening of Dhikr and a speech by Hajj Khalid, on the love of the Prophet Mohammed, peace and blessings be upon him. Dinner will be served at the end.
Remembering the birth of Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah with him, is a luminous sign in the history of Islam; and is worthy of this remembrance and celebration; to gather in it to remember Allah, Glorified and Exalted, to study the Sira and everything related to it, such as: feeding people, keeping family ties, helping the needy, orphans … and everything that is contained in seeking to imitate the Sunna (the beautiful example of the Messenger) to follow it and take as an example his beautiful qualities of character. “I have certainly been sent to perfect the noble qualities of character”, said Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings on him.
To love the Messenger of Allah is to follow him and imitate him. To love the Messenger is the determination to help him, to defend his Sunna, to submit to it and to fear opposing it. Love is the continuous remembrance of the beloved; love is to prefer the beloved; love is the longing for the beloved; love is the coincidence of the heart with what the beloved wants, loving what he loves and rejecting what he rejects.
