The Fundación Mezquita de Sevilla had the privilege of participating with our local community in a significant event organized by Ruta Mediterránea. Our Vice President, Khalid Nieto, represented our foundation alongside distinguished community leaders of Jewish and Catholic roots, Moises Hassan and Josefina Bernal. This occasion not only celebrated diverse traditions, but also demonstrated our commitment to community engagement and outreach.
The Mediterranean Route has established itself as an essential platform to promote cultural dialogue and understanding between different groups. By hosting events like the recent Christmas gathering, the magazine creates opportunities for diverse communities to come together and connect. Khalid Nieto’s participation highlighted the commitment of the Seville Mosque Foundation to active participation in community initiatives that promote social cohesion.
Through his active participation, Khalid presented himself as a representative of the Seville Mosque Foundation, providing perspectives on Islamic values and traditions. This outreach effort plays a critical role in combating stereotypes and improving the visibility of our community’s contributions. Engaging with the public in this way strengthens our presence and ensures that our community’s voice is recognized.
The recent event organised by Ruta Mediterránea was a wonderful opportunity for the Seville Mosque Foundation to engage with the community and advocate for representation and outreach. We are committed to continuing this essential work, ensuring that our presence is felt and that we contribute to building a vibrant and inclusive society.
