Hearing with HE Pak Ridwan Kamil, Governor of West Java, Indonesia

In February 2018, the Seville Mosque Foundation had the honor of receiving, in this city, Pak Ridwan Kamil, then mayor of Bandung.
Yesterday, March 29, a delegation of the Foundation has met with Pak Ridwan, who is now governor of West Java, one of the most populated regions of Indonesia, with about fifty million inhabitants.
Pak Ridwan Kamil, who is an architect by profession and only began his political career five years ago, is collaborating with the Foundation for the realization of the Islamic Cultural Center and Mosque project in Seville.
The audience was at the Governor’s official residence and they discussed the progress of the project and the different ways in which it can move forward to become a reality soon, God willing.
At the end the Governor invited Hafith Luqman Nieto, Vice President of the Foundation, to lead the Maghrib prayer, after which the delegation was invited to dinner at his personal residence.
Pak Ridwan Kamil unifies a contemporary view of society and how to advance the welfare of the people with a traditional understanding of Islam, which has led him to develop Bandung, the city of which he was mayor, as one of the cities with the highest quality of life in Indonesia, and it is his intention to do the same for the West Java region.
It has been an honor to be received by Pak Ridwan Kamil and we are very grateful for his support, as well as the entire Pak Ridwan team for their generosity and hospitality.
