This year, the conference, which will be held from October 11 to 13, commemorates 25 years since its creation and has become a cultural benchmark at provincial and international level. The mayor of Almonaster, Jacinto Vázquez, stressed that the town is ready to receive all those who wish to join the celebration and enjoy the cultural richness that characterizes the region.
This year’s program promises to be one of the most comprehensive to date, including a variety of cultural activities for all ages. Music, dance, theatre, conferences, gastronomy workshops, percussion, honey, henna, Andalusian dance and storytelling will give life to the streets of Almonaster.
The Seville Mosque Foundation, represented by Yusuf Garcia, presented its program during the days that, in addition to the Souk, conferences, guided tour of the mosque, dhikr evening and workshops for children, will have this year as special guests, the pilgrims who will leave to do the Hajj on horseback from Almonaster to Mecca.
In addition, the International Symposium will be held, which in this edition will deepen the knowledge of Andalusian houses, a fundamental aspect of architecture and daily life in Al-Andalus.
We are proud to have the neighbouring Portuguese town of Mértola, Portugal, with whom Almonaster shares a festival of Islamic culture in which we have worked together since its inception, as a guest country.
The event consolidates Almonaster as a privileged space for the encounter between cultures, reinforcing its commitment to peace, tolerance and intercultural dialogue.
