Presentation of the XII Islamic Festival of Mértola

The presentation of the XII Islamic Festival of Mértola took place on March 28th at the General Consulate of Portugal in Seville. This event was attended by the Consul General of Portugal in Seville, Claudia Boesch, the Mayor of the City of Mértola, Mario Tomé, the vice-president of the Seville Mosque Foundation, Khalid Nieto and the councilor of the City of Mértola, Rosinda Pimenta.

At the end of the speeches, a short video of the Islamic Festival was presented. The ceremony ended with a performance by the Rancho de Cantadores de Aldeia Nova de São Bento and Pedro Mestre.

At the exit, a small buffet was prepared with Halal gastronomy, served by the Hotel School of Portalegre and regional sweets presented by the project ‘La cocina de la abuela’ (Grandma’s kitchen). The presentation was attended by several representatives of the Islamic community of Seville, tour operators and press.
