Datuk Badariah Arshad is the chief of staff of Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, Prime Minister of Malaysia. Datuk Badariah worked in Tun Dr. Mahatir’s cabinet during his previous tenure as Prime Minister and was his chief of staff for the last few years, before he retired in 2003. After this, she continued to work with him, developing her work at Perdana Foudation.
With the return of Tun Dr. Mahathir to politics and his re-election as prime minister, at the age of 92, Datuk Badariah Arshad is once again the prime minister’s chief of staff.
Datuk Badariah Arshad is on vacation with her family in Spain and the Mosque Foundation of Seville has had the honor of receiving her in Granada and entertaining her and her family with a dinner and thus reciprocating the courtesy and hospitality with which we have always been received in Malaysia.
All this was at the request of several mutual friends who have the Foundation and Datuk Badariah, who asked the Foundation to receive her, despite the fact that Datuk Badariah was not on an official trip, with the importance that his position deserves.
The reception took place at the Great Mosque of Granada on Sunday the 23rd and a dinner was organized in the same place the next day.
Of course it has been an honour and a pleasure to have received Datuk Badariah and his entire family at the Great Mosque of Granada, an institution to which we also want to thank for their support and service, and we hope to be able to receive them also in Seville.
