Trip to Malaysia: A Commitment to Brotherhood and Unwavering Support

Recently, our president, Ibrahim Hernandez, made a fruitful visit to Malaysia, reaffirming the deep bonds of brotherhood that bind our community to this noble country.

The purpose of the trip was to report and present the current progress of the Islamic Cultural Center, Mosque and Awqaf Project in Seville, as well as to request support for its completion. In cordial and constructive meetings, meetings were held with various government authorities, prominent businessmen, representatives of NGOs and, especially, with long-standing friends whose support has been fundamental.

Over the last few years, Malaysia has been a consistent and close support, both from official institutions and from individual initiative. This support is not measured only in material terms, but, and above all, in an authentic relationship of brotherhood, care and mutual concern, always received with the utmost courtesy and hospitality that characterizes the Malaysian people.

From the Mosque of Seville, we want to express a huge and heartfelt gratitude to all the Malaysians who have supported us since the beginning of this path, more than ten years ago. We will never forget those who sustained us in our first steps and who continue to do so today. It is our firm desire to be able to see this project as a living reality that serves society and strengthens bridges between cultures.

During the trip we had the honor of being received, for the sixth time in these years, by Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad. Their meeting is always a beacon of inspiration and motivation. Reaching 100 years of age while maintaining a tireless dedication to work and fighting for the highest causes is a living lesson for all of us: never give up and persevere, no matter the trials and turbulences along the way. Their example strengthens our resolve.

With the continued support of our brothers in Malaysia and around the world, we continue to move forward with hope and conviction towards the realization of this shared dream for Seville. Insha Allah
