Today we have had the honor of being invited to the residence of Faizal Tahir, a renowned Malaysian singer with a huge heart and an unwavering dedication to helping others around the world. For us, Faizal is much more than a celebrity: he is a brother and a great supporter.
Faizal led the group of artists of the second campaign of “A Tile for Seville”, an initiative of the Mosque Foundation of Seville. In this campaign, renowned artists from Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore travelled to Spain to create a documentary mini-series showcasing the past and present of Islam in Spain, raising funds for the Islamic Cultural Centre, Mosque and Awqaf in Seville.
The campaign was a resounding success, not only because of the funds raised, but also because of the countless opportunities that opened up thanks to it and the brotherhood that was forged among all the participants. The connection between all those involved has endured over time.
We take this opportunity to reiterate our deepest gratitude to all the artists who participated in both campaigns of “A Tile for Seville”:
A Tile for Seville 1: Farah Fauzana, Diana Amir, Heliza Helmi and Fynn Jamal (link to the A Tile for Seville 1 page)
A Tile for Seville 2: Oki Setiana Dewi & Dewi Sandra (Indonesia); Faizal Tahir, Irma Hasmie, Suffian Amrin and Farah Asyikin (Malaysia); and Elfaeza Ul Haq (Singapore). (link to A Tile for Seville 2 page)
We also thank Ukhwah4Ummah, the NGO that organized the campaign, and all the human and technical team that contributed to its success.
The meeting with Faizal was a reminder of the positive impact of “A Tile for Seville” and the strength of the relationships built through this project.
