The President of the Granada Mosque Foundation and the Islamic Community in Spain, Umar del Pozo, together with Luqman Nieto, Vice President of the Seville Mosque Foundation, accompanied by Abdellah Castiñeira, Imam Jatib of the Great Mosque of Granada and Jadiya Martinez, received yesterday HE. Cihad Erginay, Turkey’s ambassador to Spain and his wife, at the Granada Mosque Foundation.
The reception was shortly before the Maghrib prayer and the iftar or fast breaking. We had the pleasure of having the presence of HE. the Ambassador during both and sharing with him some very enjoyable moments. HE the Ambassador was interested in the history of the mosque as well as the needs of Muslims and the way in which the Turkish embassy can help.
During the visit, they were shown the facilities of the mosque and the cultural centre and the different activities that are carried out such as the publication of books or classes.
It was an honour to receive and host HE Cihad Erginay and we hope that he might be able to repeat this visit soon and too also receive him in Seville.
