Last Tuesday, April 2, we carried out a distribution of food packages at the Seville Mosque Foundation thanks to the generosity of the Türkiye Presidency of Religious Affairs and Türkiye Diyanet Vakfi. Collectively we were able to distribute food packages to 150 families. A representative of Diyanet, Kenan Oral, was also present to help organize the distribution.
Generosity is an essential part of Islam and one of the signs of those who have a heart of gratitude to Allah. The Messenger, peace be upon him said, in a Hadith transmitted by Abu Hurairah:
Generosity is close to Allah, close to Paradise, close to people and far from Hell. Greed is far from Allah, far from Paradise, far from people and close to Hellfire. A generous and ignorant person is more beloved to Allah, Exalted is He, than a mean scholar. (Tirmidhi)
Part of gratitude to Allah is to be grateful to people, as the Prophet also reminded us in a Hadith (Ahmad, Tirmdhi), so we want to show our gratitude to Diyanet and Türkiye Diyanet Vakfi, as well as to all the people who, with their service and help have made this possible.
We would also like to take this opportunity to apologize to all the families who made the effort to go and were unable to take anything as the distribution had been completed. We hope that next time there will be enough for everyone. Insha Allah.
