We present with humility and responsibility the Zakat report for the year 2025. These numbers are not just numbers; They are the tangible expression of a sacred trust and the living commitment of our community.
Over the last seven years, the Seville Mosque Foundation has raised and distributed more than one million euros in Zakat, materializing in direct aid to households that have alleviated the situation of thousands of families. Each contribution, each act of giving, carries with it a blessing that transforms realities. We ask Allah to multiply His reward on those who fulfill this pillar, for it is their commitment that directly sustains those who need it most.
Managing Zakat – with the delicacy required for its collection and distribution – is a responsibility that grows in complexity and depth every year. We are confronted daily with stories of genuine need, which makes this work both a challenge and an immense honor. An honour that lies precisely in being able, with Allah’s help, to be a conduit of His mercy to lighten burdens and restore dignity.
Being close witnesses of this divine mechanism of justice and purification reaffirms us in the greatness of Zakat. Through the Zakat Seville platform, which is now seven years old, we have consolidated a transparent and accessible channel so that the entire community can comply with and receive this right with clarity and confidence. What began as a small project has grown, by Allah’s will, to exceed any initial expectations, taking root as an active pillar of our community life.
The results presented below correspond to the year 2025 and reflect the consolidation of this collective effort. They are, above all, a motivation to continue to move forward with more determination, more wisdom and more sensitivity in the years to come.
May Allah accept all those who pay their Zakat, purify their goods and fill their riches with baraka. May Zakat be true relief for those who receive it. And that he guides us—those of us who have the responsibility of administering it—with taqwa and furqan in every decision. Amin.
The Zakat collected is distributed in its entirety into the categories specified in the Qur’an. The Fundación Mezquita de Sevilla does not use, nor distributes for its own purposes, expenses or projects anything intended for Zakat.
This report is made on a calendar year basis for the sake of accounting and transparency. Zakat is collected and distributed daily. All Zakat collected is distributed within the same calendar year. The balance on account shows provision for the coming months. The demand for Zakat is constant and predictable, the collection can be more variable and uneven.
The bank charges of the specific Zakat account have amounted to €1,510.56, which have been paid by the Mosque of Seville Foundation.
On January 9, 2025, a Mixed Act of Demonstrations and Protocolization, number seventy-seven, was made to make public the annual report for the year 2025. This was done based on a report commissioned from a law firm for the qualification and legal viability of the distribution of Zakat, according to the parameters followed.
In order to provide total transparency throughout the process, the Seville Mosque Foundation, without prejudice to the presentation and rendering of accounts to the Protectorate of Foundations, has decided to grant a notarized record of statements on an annual basis in which the total amounts received and delivered as zakat monthly and annually, as well as the number of beneficiaries of the same, will be recorded.
This process is carried out by ensuring that any action or process carried out respects and protects the privacy and personal data rights of all persons involved, both payers and receivers.
