In Ramadan 2021, the visit to the United Arab Emirates was resumed in the month of Ramadan, which in 2020 due to the Coronavirus pandemic could be done. The UAE is a country with which, through the Islamic Community in Spain, there is a historical relationship with some of the royal families and other families of great weight that during this month open their houses to visitors during the breaking of the fast with tremendous hospitality and generosity.
The Emir of Sharjah, Shaykh Sultan Al Qasimi, financed through the Government of Sharjah the last and largest phase of the Great Mosque of Granada, inaugurated in July 2003.
During these trips where we presented and sought support for the project of the Islamic Cultural Center of Seville, there have also been audiences with the Ambassadors of Spain in the UAE, meetings with local NGOs, participated in the annual Quran memorization competition, etc. At the same time, a relationship has always been maintained with the Embassy of the Emirates in Spain.
