The president of the Islamic Community in Spain announces that since the fourth crescent of the moon has not been sighted in the area of reference, today the beginning of the month of Ramadan is set for Saturday, April 25, thus fulfilling the month of Sha’́ban a cycle of 30 days.
Allah says in the Qur’an:
Believers! Fasting has been prescribed for you just as it was prescribed for those who preceded you.
May you fear (Allah)!
For a certain number of days, fixed for that purpose.
But he who is sick or on a journey, may do so, in equal number, on other days.
And those who could fast (do not do so or break their fast) the remedy will be to feed some poor.
But whoever does good spontaneously, it will be better for him. And that ye fast is better for you, if ye know.
In the month of Ramadan the Qur’an was sent down, guidance for men and clear proofs of Guidance and Discernment; so whoever of you sees the month, let him fast; and whoever is sick or on a journey, let him fast at another time, for the same number of days. Allah wants for you the easy and not the difficult, but He wants you to complete the number (of days) and to proclaim the greatness of Allah for having guided you.
May you be grateful!
(Sura of the Cow, 183-184-185)
Let us ask Allah for ease in this holy month and the greatest of rewards in this life and the next, amin.
