After the milestone reached on 28 July, when the Executive Commission for Urban Planning definitively approved the building permit, the project for the Islamic Cultural Centre of Seville is entering a new phase, this time focused on the work prior to the materialisation of the construction.
We recall that the license was obtained after passing all the mandatory legal procedures, including a new technical and legal analysis, following the letter presented by the political party VOX, which was resolved with all the guarantees by the municipal services. From the Seville City Council, and in the words of its Mayor, it was stressed that “ideologies are not above laws”, with legal certainty and regulatory compliance prevailing.
Current situation
At the moment, we are immersed in the final stretch of the drafting of the Execution Project, an essential technical document that develops in detail the construction specifications, materials, installations and planning of the work. This project is the previous and necessary step to be able to go out to tender.
Our technical and architectural teams are finalising the final details, with the aim of having it completed in the coming weeks.
Next steps
Once the Execution Project has been completed, the steps to be followed will be:
-
Bidding for the work: The process will be opened for the selection of the construction company that will carry out the work.
-
Award and signing of the contract.
-
Start of work: According to current forecasts, and if the administrative deadlines develop normally, the start of construction is scheduled for the end of this year or the beginning of next year.
We continue to work with the same enthusiasm, responsibility and commitment that has guided us from the beginning. We are deeply grateful for the support received from everyone, both visible and private, and we maintain our willingness to dialogue with all Sevillians, their political representatives and, especially, with the residents of the Polígono Sur, with whom we renew our commitment to the development of the neighbourhood and coexistence.
We continue with our trust in God, and in the legal framework that protects us, so that this dream, which is getting closer and closer, will soon be a reality and benefit for the entire city.
