The delivery of the preliminary project of the Islamic Cultural Centre of Seville, designed by Guillermo Vázquez Consuegra, represents a fundamental milestone in the creation of a space dedicated to intercultural dialogue and the contemporary expression of Islamic heritage. The architectural proposal harmoniously integrates the Cultural Center and the Mosque around a large tree-lined triangular courtyard, creating a complex that responds to both the functional and spiritual needs of the community, at the service of the city.

The Cultural Centre is developed on three levels with interconnected spaces that favour flexibility and encounter, while the Mosque is conceived as an open-plan and symbolic volume, where the treatment of natural light creates a serene and evocative atmosphere. Both buildings share a unitary image thanks to the use of a lattice inspired by the sebka of the Giralda, which acts as a protective skin and an element of identity.

The project also incorporates advanced criteria of sustainability and energy efficiency, with a bioclimatic design that optimises natural ventilation, sunlight and the use of local materials such as brick. The presence of wooded courtyards, native vegetation and lattice systems for solar control reinforces the environmental commitment, making this centre not only a cultural benchmark, but also a benchmark for responsible architecture with its surroundings.
