Khalid Nieto and Ahmed Benyessef in Tangier, two enriching cultural events

They were two cultural and artistic manifestations in two different centers physically close in Tangier. The first was in Le Cercle des Arts, directed by Mrs. Layla Maimoun, it consisted on the presentation of the book, “The footprint of the word”. It is a marriage between poetry and drawing. The poems by Khalid Nieto, a Muslim Sevillian and the drawings by the painter Ahmed Ben Yessef. It is accompanied by the presentation of an exhibition of the drawings that accompany the poems. It was an endearing act with a lot of presence, enriching by the public and by the protagonists.

At the end of the ceremony followed the inauguration with the exhibition by Ahmed Ben Yessef in the new gallery, “Medina Art Gallery”, directed by Omar Salhi.

Ben Yessef himself has summed up this event in two words. “In my career I have never seen an influx of people to visit an exhibition. It is composed of 24 works, some of them of great size and there oils, watercolor, drawing and sculpture. The theme of my work remains the same, the human being in different manifestations”.
