Death of Rafael Valencia
The Seville Mosque Foundation has conveyed its condolences to the family of D. Rafael Valencia on Saturday afternoon.
The vice president of the Seville Mosque Foundation, Hajj Jalid Nieto yesterday went to the mortuary of the SE30, in order to leave testimony of the feeling that many members of the Foundation have left behind the sudden death of our cordial friend D. Rafael Valencia, who rest in peace.
The visit was made in the company of the painter Hajj Ahmed Ben Yessef with whom the deceased had a relationship of friendship and collaboration.
Both spoke with Rafael’s brother and son, to whom they expressed regret for this loss and the good relations that united him to the one who was president of the Seville Royal Academy of Good Letters.
Certain that the city loses an illustrious neighbor who has transmitted from his knowledge as an Arabist a great love for our Andalusian past.
Everyone knows of his open character and his empathy for his adoptive city and the one that this Foundation held in high regard both for his knowledge and for the restraint with which he spoke in difficult times in relation to the projects of our entity.
Rest in peace.
