Reception of Datuk Badariah Arshad, chief of staff of Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamed

Datuk Badariah Arshad is the Chief of Staff of Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, Prime Minister of Malaysia. Datuk Badariah worked in Tun Dr. Mahatir’s cabinet during his previous tenure as prime minister and was his chief of staff in the later years, before he retired in 2003. After this, she continued working with him at the Perdana Foudation.

With the return of Tun Dr. Mahathir to politics and his re-election as prime minister, at 92, Datuk Badariah Arshad is again the chief of staff of the prime minister.

Datuk Badariah Arshad is on vacation with her family in Spain and the Seville Mosque Foundation has had the honour of receiving her in Granada and to host a dinner for her and her family, and thus correspond minimally the courtesy and hospitality with which we are always received in Malaysia.

This was at the request of several common friends of the Foundation and Datuk Badariah, who asked the us to receive her, even though Datuk Badariah was not on an official trip, with the importance that his position deserves.

The reception took place at the Great Mosque of Granada on Sunday 23rd and dinner was organized at the same place the next day.

Of course, it has been an honour and a pleasure to receive Datuk Badariah and her family at the Great Mosque of Granada, an institution to which we also want to thank for their support and service, and we hope to receive them in Seville as well.
